A Message from the PTSA

Dear Highlander Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!

PTSA stands for Parent Teacher Student Association. McLean High School PTSA is a parent-run, volunteer-led, school-based 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-commercial, non-sectarian and non-partisan organization officially affiliated with the National PTA and Virginia PTA that unites parents, teachers, and students to make McLean High School a stronger, more welcoming, and supportive place for every Highlander. 

Our work is made possible by families, teachers, staff, students, and community members who contribute their time, ideas, membership dues, and donations. Every dollar, every hour, every idea, and every helping hand makes a difference.

Connecting Families

McLean is a community made stronger by the families who participate in it. Through grade-level parent communities, multicultural family engagement, volunteer opportunities, events, and many programs, the PTSA works to help families feel informed, welcomed, and connected.

Supporting Students

Our students are at the heart of everything we do. This year, the PTSA will support initiatives focused on mental health and wellness, college preparation, the national arts programs, senior celebrations, and other programs that enrich the student experience. 

Strengthening McLean

The PTSA will continue to advocate for our students and school, including through our facilities advocacy efforts. We will also support the teachers and staff who make such a difference in our students' lives through appreciation initiatives and other programs.

How You Can Be Part of It

JOIN — Become a PTSA member. Your membership supports our work and gives you a voice in our organization.

GIVE — Your donation helps fund PTSA student and school community programs and activities, staff appreciation, and other experiences that directly benefit our Highlanders.

VOLUNTEER — You don’t need to have a lot of time or special expertise.  Join a committee, help at an event, share your talents, or simply give an hour. There is a place for everyone.
